Putting Green Turf vs Landscape Turf

4 min read · Blades Synthetic Turf, Charleston

These are two different products with two very different goals.

Putting green turf

  • Short, dense nylon fibers for smooth, consistent ball roll.
  • Engineered for putting — not for walking long distances or running on.
  • Available in bi-color and tri-color finishes for a realistic look.

Landscape turf

  • Taller blades and a thatch layer for a natural lawn appearance.
  • Better for general foot traffic, pets, and landscape uses.
  • Not ideal for putting — ball roll will be slow and inconsistent.

When to use both

Many backyard golf setups use both — putting turf for the green itself, and a landscape turf for the surrounding fringe and lawn area.
