What Accessories Do You Need for Turf Installation?
5 min read · Blades Synthetic Turf, Charleston
Beyond the turf itself, most installs need a handful of accessories. Here's a tidy checklist of what comes up most often.
The usual suspects
- Seam tape — used to join roll edges cleanly.
- Turf adhesive — applied with seam tape for a permanent bond.
- Nails or staples — perimeter and field fastening for outdoor installs.
- Infill — silica or composite infill helps blades stand up and adds weight.
- Foam pad or underlay — common under putting greens and on rooftops.
- Putting cups, flags, and pins — for backyard or facility greens.
- Batting cage mat or pitching lane mat — for sports installs.
What you may not need
Many nylon commercial turf installs (Nylon Superior 47 and 65) do not require infill. Some simulator and indoor installs skip seam tape and adhesive for a removable setup.
